PageSnap Privacy Policy

PageSnap is a browser extension by Built by Amit that captures web pages as PNG or JPG images. Screenshot processing takes place locally on your device.

Information PageSnap processes

When you start a capture, PageSnap temporarily accesses the active page’s content, layout, and URL to prepare the screenshot and generate its filename. Screenshots may contain any information visible on the captured page, including personal information.

PageSnap does not upload this information to Built by Amit or any other recipient. The extension has no analytics, telemetry, advertisements, tracking, accounts, or remote runtime scripts.

Local storage and downloads

PageSnap stores your preferred image format and JPEG quality in your browser’s local extension storage.

Completed screenshots are saved through your browser’s download manager at your request. These files remain in your chosen download location until you delete or move them. PageSnap does not maintain a separate screenshot history.

Temporary capture data is used while generating the image and released during capture cleanup. Uninstalling PageSnap removes its locally stored settings but does not delete screenshots you have downloaded.

Permissions

PageSnap uses these browser permissions:

  • activeTab: temporarily access the active tab when you invoke the extension.
  • scripting: measure and scroll the page, wait for content, temporarily adjust page appearance and persistent navigation, and restore those changes after capture.
  • downloads: save the PNG or JPG image you requested.
  • storage: remember your image format and JPEG quality preferences locally.
  • offscreen: use a hidden extension document and local canvas to combine screenshot sections.

Website activity during capture

Scrolling a page may cause that website to load additional images or content through its normal network requests. Those requests are made by the website and remain subject to its own privacy practices.

Scope of this policy

This policy covers the PageSnap browser extension. It does not describe data processing by websites you capture, the Built by Amit website, or the browser and extension stores.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to PageSnap. The date above will indicate the latest revision.
